So that gambling stays fun.

Gambling has one main purpose: fun. That is why we at Spielbank Bad Homburg offer you a diverse range of table games and slot machine gaming options. Yet sometimes an exciting and entertaining game can suddenly turn into something serious. The people who are affected lose control of their gambling. What results is often ruinous – financially, socially and psychologically.

We want to ensure this does not become the case for you, which is why we offer help. In partnership with the German Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA) and the Deutscher Lotto- und Totoblock (German lottery and totalisator agency association – DTLB), we provide information about gambling addiction and counselling services on this page.

If you find that you show indications of unusual gambling behaviours, you can also speak with our employees at the casino at any time.

For us, it’s important that you’re having fun playing

There are a few rules to help you along the way.

  • Keep an eye on the maximum amount you would like to bet per day.
  • Don’t go into debt to gamble.
  • Don’t bet any money that’s budgeted for something else (rent, car repairs, new washing machine, etc.).
  • Don’t let gambling be detrimental to your job or family.
  • Make an effort to take a break if you play frequently.
  • Don’t gamble to relieve stress or deal with bad or anxious moods.

The transition from straight gambling fun to addiction is a fluid one

The following sentences are intended to get you thinking about how you gamble:

  • You feel that you ‘need’ to gamble and that you can’t stop this feeling. You miss professional and personal commitments because of this.
  • You’ve wanted to fully stop gambling on a number of occasions, but haven’t managed to do so.
  • You gamble to escape your problems.
  • You suffer financial stress because of gambling and have to borrow money or sell possessions.
  • You have to cover up your regular gambling.
  • You have difficulty sleeping or concentrating because your thoughts are constantly revolving around gambling.

Do you identify with one or more of these statements? Then you should consider seeking advice.
